Pocket is gone. Your reading list doesn’t have to be.

Pocket shut down in 2025. If you kept your export, Larksail gives those years of saved articles a new home: searchable, taggable, and stored on your computer instead of someone’s server — so it can’t be shut down on you again.

Larksail is a desktop browser extension. Open this page on your computer to install it.

Move over in three steps

About a minute. Importing never changes or deletes anything already in Larksail.

  1. Export from Pocket

Find the export you downloaded from Pocket: a CSV file, or a ZIP with several parts. Larksail reads them all, and the old HTML export too.

  2. Install Larksail

Add it to Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Brave. No account to create.

  3. Import the file

Open Larksail’s settings, go to Import & export, and pick the file. Your articles land in two collections, “Pocket · Unread” and “Pocket · Archive”.

What comes along

Your Pocket data, intact.

Larksail reads Pocket’s export format directly, and tells you about anything it had to skip.

  • Every saved article with its title and URL
  • Your tags
  • The date you saved each one
  • Unread and archived, kept apart

What you get on top

Unlimited and free

No caps on collections or saved tabs, no account, no trial.

Never loses a tab

Every closed tab goes to a searchable archive, and every automatic action has an undo.

Manages open tabs too

Suspend idle tabs, auto-archive old ones, merge windows and close duplicates.

Yours to keep

Stored on your computer, backed up to your Downloads, exportable as JSON, Markdown or bookmarks.

Switching from Pocket: questions

My export is a ZIP with several files. Does that work?

Yes. Larksail reads the ZIP directly and merges the parts. The CSV and the older HTML export work too.

I didn’t save my Pocket export. Can Larksail get it?

No. Larksail can only import a file you downloaded. If you saved your list somewhere else, such as Instapaper or Raindrop, Larksail can import from there.

Can I keep using Pocket while I try Larksail?

Yes. Importing reads a copy of your data and changes nothing in Pocket. Importing into Larksail only ever adds; it never overwrites what’s already there.

Is Larksail free?

Yes, with no limits on collections or saved tabs, and no account.

Bring your tabs home.

Free, private, and no limits — with an undo for everything.
